A Google spokesperson tells CBS News for health queries, we’ve always had strong quality and safety guardrails in place including disclaimers that remind people that it’s important to seek out expert advice, but not all of it. CBS News confirmed that some health misinformation persists on the tool queries about introducing solid foods to infants under six months old, still returned tips in late June when we tested it searches on the health benefits of dubious wellness trends like detoxes or drinking raw milk included debunked claims.

Is Wikipedia a “gatekeeper”?

I heard today that TikTik.com is now considered a “gatekeeper”.

A new “up and coming” internet celebrity, who seems to have the potential to become an overnight millionaire (based alone on spit) named Haliey Welch, also known as “Hawk Tuah”, became famous via TikTok.com — but wikipedia.org has posted a profile for the star which contains no link to tiktok.com but instead links to her instagram.com profile.

I think that’s weird.

Not many realize that the information they are seeking on Google is censored, filtered, and deliberately presented to users in certain areas to align with its interests. Google heavily lobbies governments globally, but has an extreme sway over politicians within the establishment on the right and left.

BTW: I just posted something related .. and for a short moment it seemed like a very dystopian fiction story … but then (in the end) I was shocked that it actually seemed quite realistic! 😯 (See “Would You Rather Choose a Book or Pick a Card?” [ https://socio.business.blog/2024/03/25/would-you-rather-choose-a-book-or-pick-a-card ] )

I remember being about 3 years old. I’d wake up each morning just as the sun began to break over the horizon. I’d get up on my knees to peer through the window above my bed waiting for that first light.

Get a journal and clear your head of all the dumb stuff that swirls around in it. Walk around a park with no headphones on just listening to the silence seeing what seeps in between the gaps, buy a matcha latte so green it looks like something from an alien planet. Look after yourself as if you were your partner. Make your bed so it’s nice when you get in from a night out. Buy yourself a pastry from the shop. Remember, no one knows what you want better than yourself.

While I chatted with my friend he pointed out parental influence and the child’s rebellion. In his opinion, parental influence should be minimal and end as soon as the child turns 18 and when the parent still refuses to let go, then it’s okay to rebel. I asked him why? He then went further to explain that “parents wants to insinuate old methods for new eventualities and most times they don’t work”.
